Shane Mosley vs Andre Berto signed!?

Shane is inconsistent?!?! WTF? atsch Shane lost a disputed decision to Cotto and has beaten every opponent since he lost to Winky as well as stopping a man everyone thought was unstoppable and you call that inconsistent?

 

He did look sloppy against Mayorga though. He can be a little off or take a while to find his rhythm - but Naseem seemed to sort that out against Margarito.

I think Berto combos quick but doesn't have the physical strength to tie Shane up and doesn't have the inside game to compete there either. Faster or not, Shane is a massive puncher and Berto will get lamped eventually.

 

Mayorga is Mayorga he can be a tough guy to look good against. Vernon Forrest wasnt able to beat him. Shane was. Thats good enough for me

Anyway Shane will walk Berto down and break his will. If Berto thought he had a tough fight vs Collazo in a phone booth wait till he meets Shane. Dont be surprised if he goes similar to the way Cintron did vs Marg (then again Marg may have had plaster of paris in his gloves then...)

 

Hope Berto wins the fight so Mayweather doesnt have to beat Shane up, But i think shane will be too good for Berto at this point in time in his career, Good on the lad for taking the fight not many would have.

 

There's next to no way Berto can win this - he's not fighting the stationary Urango now.

 

Mosley will school him unless Mosley don't turm up that night. It's happened before.

Nah of course it wasnt. Clear watched a different fight to everyone else then.

 

Everyone's writing Berto off here but hes the young gun coming into his prime, while Mosley is getting older and wont have been in the ring for a year by the time the fight happens. Berto also had some problems with Collazo who Shane dominated but I think that may have been a bit of a learning process. Plus I think the Margarito win while a great 1 may have flattered Shane, Margarito's style was made for him pretty much

Basically Berto and Mosley have identicle styles pretty much, fast handed combo throwers who arent afraid to mix it up. Berto is as fast if not faster than Mosley. I wonder if Mosley will grow old in this 1 against a younger man who may better him for stamina and may want it more than the old dog

 

As long as Shane's motivated he'll destroy this hype job. I doubt it'll be a unifcation fight though. The WBC will most likely strip Berto for not rematching Collazo.

 

Yeah right. Berto mentally isnt a strong fighter. He's talented no question about that and i like his style but iv a feeling he's another Kermit Cintron. When things dont go his way he wilts. He's got a massive task ahead of him to beat Shane and the only way to do that is by getting his respect and staying in the cup. The chances of that happening are slim. Shane by TKO with Berto quitting on his stool around the 6th.

 

Yep, Cotto quite clearly won that fight by a few rounds.

Dont really rate Berto much, I think Mosley would get the KO here.

 

Credit to Berto for taking such a fight, providing it does happen! Andre will to improve his defense, because Mosley is fast, sharp & powerful.

The only thing that worries me in respect of Shane is inactivity. It will be a year gone by since he last fought, albeit his last outing was a great victory of Margarito. Inactivity is not good for a fighter of young age, let alone someone of Mosley's age. I know he looks after himself, but long spells between bouts should be of some concern for his team.
