Maybe you should ask him why?

He said it.....I agree that it would make for more excitement on the same card.

Actually it's a great idea. Neither Cotto nor Margo will have trouble packing an Arena but either on their own might not sell as well in terms of PPV buys. On different venues Arum would get 2 site fees plus the live gates on both on top of good PPV numbers since Cotto, Margarito and Mosley are all big names.
It should easily exceed 400K buys by my estimate with this format.

I don't see why Arum would have two cards competing with himself.

"Yesterday I was lying, today I am telling the truth". Arum is a professional liar, he used to be a lawyer.

With Margarito and Mosley already fighting a PPV? That will definitely be an Headed By Oscar PPV, with Mosley being part of GBP and all. GBP and Top Rank would collaborate on this card.

With one of Arum's big names already on an HBO PPV, why would he have his other big name on another card competing with it?

    I hope so!

My personal opinion has always been that Shane WANTED the fight, but Oscar kinda convinced him to step aside so Oscar could get first crack.

I do now, and always have believed this to be the case.

    That is my belief.

Wasn't this when Shane was ready to make the jump to fight Oscar?

Yes, if Cotto had applied more body pressure with left hooks as he normally does, it may have been a different showdown.

I see Mosley giving Margarito trouble, based on the fact that he's back to fast combination punching. The Mosley of 147lbs has a better shot than the Mosley at 154lbs who wanted more one-punch power. I can see Mosley rattling some nice combinations off of Margarito's head, etc.. Cotto, for some reason, was unable or unwilling to mount a sustained attack in such a way.

I give Margarito credit for that. He kept his elbows tucked in to ward off body shots, and also, throwing body shots leaves yourself more open to the head.

I may need to rewatch it again, but maybe Margarito landed some counters after Cotto went to the body which made Cotto more selective about when to go downstairs.

Cotto and Margarito would fight at different venues but both would be on the same PPV broadcast.

Beating Margo for Shane is only chance to have a shot at Mayweather, I think fight between Shane and Floyd was almost in works but his loss to Cotto set things way back.
I think Mosley has a chance to beat Margo via UD.
