Why have you quoted then edited a post from a completely different thread?

Mosley was well past it vs Cotto and against shady reffing at that.

Man Kell vs Porter was hard to sit through, the amount of hugging, clinging, dragging, slogging throughout the match made it unbearable, almost as bad as watching an MMA ground hugfest, infact he even out did Floyd in that department that night, even after watching the match in HD, Hoping it would be a better viewing i was wrong,

Agree with him possibly knocking him out if were going by Spence's performance against Shawn porter alone.

    GREAT mythical matchup

Reminder to the dumbos posting earlier in this threat - Sugar Shane never fought at 140lbs (although he would have been absolutely electric at this weight)

Both guys had serious amateur careers and had purebred pedigrees. Both have HOF professional resumes.

Too many posting here are simply remebering old Shane Mosley, even citing the Cotto fight (his best days were absolutely behind him by then)

PRIME SHANE at 147 (right when he moved up) was a monster. He lost to Oscar and Vernon Forrest, but I really don't think he loses to Spence. Shane had a little something special. Spence being a sound southpaw keeps him in the game.

Not exactly but I don't rate Cotto very highly. Especially as a welterweight. He has the typical skill set of a champion that you'll see at least once every couple of years.

Mosley was a bona fide top fighter.

That's why Floyd Mayweather avoided him until he was age 40 and faded.

Spence in a tough fight. Also pretty tired of reading that a fighter is in a “Different class” just cause they’re old

I'm not that high on Cotto either, but he squeaked by a 36-year-old Mosley. The Mosley from 2001 would have handled Cotto convincingly.

Isn't Mosley winning the poll by a significant margin though ?

I love Shane, but I believe now that he was not that good, at least at 147. A few fights of him when he was out of his prime changed my mind about him. Yes, I know he was out of his prime, but still. He should have beaten Cotto. Cotto is a hittable fighter. Shane has an iron chin and is fast and hits hard. I swear I would have picked Shane every time in a fantasy match if they had never fought. And he was coming on in that fight and could have won it but just got out boxed for stretches.

Another fight that kind of showed this was against Mayorga. Mayorga adjusted to Shane and made that fight super close. Mayorga ****ing adapted. Shane got the KO but still. Way too close and Mayorga was not prime either. Also, he only got the KO because the ref literally let him punch Mayorga immediately after the KD. He wasn't in the corner. Well this fight was at 154 but come on, it's Mayorga.

Shane lacked boxing skills and a plan B (at the elite level). His best win was De La Hoya. I honestly thought that fight was ridiculously close. HBO praised his speed so much yet I thought Oscar looked almost as fast.
