Lol. I actually tried to read through that and the only thing that I took away from it was that a poster called Pimp C was completely owning you. Didn't you say something about Trinidad using his jab to circle and outbox Mayweather??....just like he did against Wright, huh? I think you also tried claiming that Tito had a legit win over Oscar. Log off son. It's amazing he was ever considered p4p#1 by anyone, yes. I remember disillusioned fans holding up signs "Roy Jones you're next" when Tito was on his way to the ring to be dismantled by Hopkins. That is an example of the love affair fans have for a fighter that is considered a knock out artist. This is Tito's career: Get schooled and get a gift----move up in weight and never give a rematch. Get schooled and KO'd....retire Come out of retirement----beat a scrub-----get schooled again---retire. Come out of retirement again---get schooled----retire
Great post Isal. Completely agree and have said the same damn thing, Oscar faced so much criticism following the Tito fight that he wanted to prove that he could brawl again and was very dumb move against mosley, when he could have easily resorted back to his ring generalship, moving, bouncing and counter punching. Instead went forward, being the aggressor and trying to knock mosley's head off, he did buckle mosley around the 5th round but shane instantly recovered and fired right back. And in the 11th and 12th round, I'm actually shocked, with oscar slowing down, he didn't get KO'd. Shane landed some bombs that oscar didn't even see coming yet somehow stayed up and continued to fight. He definitely proved he could brawl but it was a losing effort. I remember reading, i think it was from Alcazar but may have been Arum now that i think about it, that oscar had no plan b in the mosley fight and just fought a very stupid fight. But I think that is where Mosley PEAKED, and I do believe oscar Peaked in the trinidad fight albeit gassing the final couple rounds but think that was just from his body letting him down since he was moving and bouncing so much.
Yea, why he and oscar never fought again was amazing considering the controversy. But what I remember is Tito was asking for 60-65% of the purse but obviously Oscar was the draw and wouldn't accept that, believing he won the fight anyway and Tito was the fake champion.
Tito would win this shoot out. It's possible Mosley may put him on the deck then Tito will get up and give it to Mosley really good
This is what I immediately thought of when I saw the question, I personally believe, Mosley always seemed to have a clear issue with taller longer fighters (even Oscar to an extent), I believe Tito wins a decision if it's against the Mosley that fought Oscar in their first fight.
Look I'm a Tito fan but I think his style plays right into Shane's style. Shane prefers his opponents comes right to him and Tito does that. If it was any other fighter I will agree with you that Tito knocks them out but we're talking about shane Mosley here. I think it Teddy Atlas who said it best, People don't understand how strong Shane Mosley is. Yes Tito hits extremely hard but I have a hard time believing that he stops a prime Shane Mosley who had one of the best chins in boxing. Just like Dela Hoya, Trinidad will struggle with Shanes speed and combination punching. Don't don't forget Shane hits hard himself and he hits hard with speed. I see shane decisioning Trinidad while scoring a knockdown or two in the process.
Its not Forest height that bothered Shane, it was his jab. Tito's jab was not as strong as Forest. Forest Jab was what neutralized shane's speed. Thats the same reason why shane struggled with Winky Wright another great jabber twice. Trinidad's come forward style plays right into Shane Mosley style. The way Tito fought was how exactly shane prefered his opponents. Maybe not with same punching power, but none the less Shane prefered his opponents comes at him.
I hesitantly pick Tito. Shane tricked people into thinking he was a crafty boxer because people think "anyone that fast has to be a slickster, right?" But, in reality, Shane was not really a slick boxer. He was just a brawler that was very fast. He jumped in and threw fast combos. Of course, that might work well for a while against Trinidad. However, I say Tito's hook eventually finds him and wins a war where both men taste the canvass.
i'll make it simple. i have seen shane having trouble with tall, rangy fighters and i haven't seen tito lose a war or lose to a come foward agresive fighter. thats one of my dream fights that never happened
Shane and Tito would be a great fight. All the praise for Mosely goes out the window when you remember he was spending $35000 a year with balco ! Or are we going to ignore it ?
I'm not interested in your opinion cause you're a clown job like Limp C. Oh wait, you are probably him
They could had fought ,but stayed away ,sugar camp wasn't never ready. I think people judge fights like these base on how the fighter went out his last two years instead of knowing how each one career went.
