If calzaghe wouldnt be able to hurt mosley bare fist, i assume you also feel calzaghe fighting at 175lbs wouldnt be able to hurt mosley fighting at 147. This is because calzaghe doesnt hit hard enough to hurt someone 30lbs lighter even without boxing gloves on. Is this your belief?

Do you find it unbelievable how mosley, cotto or margarito didn't move up to 175lbs to knock calzaghe out given the praise they'd get for it, seems as hopkins, bika, kessler, jones etc couldn't do it?

this is such a strange thread to start. there are few guys in the game less likely to get into a backalley brawl than mosley and calzaghe. don't mistake shane's love of trading punches--sometimes foolishly--in the ring for a streetfighter's stance...two different things, completely. these are guys who recognize, understand deeply and capitalize on the rules, the fine print and regulations of boxing to produce world class performances. that said, if pressed, i suppose joe's fragile hands and shane's darting, hard, straight punches would make mosley my betting favorite.

 

i have never been a joe calzaghe fan and think his legend is massively overdone. however, to my mind, calzaghe proved his worth as a world class fighter on two occasions: against kessler, first and foremost, and against hopkins. joe managed to make the younger, fresher, physically stronger and very accurate, hard, straight punching kessler miss, eat awkward flurries and, eventually, get so discouraged by repetition of this process that he began to resign himself to losing late in the fight. against hopkins, joe came off the canvas to outfox and outhustle one of the trickiest, sneakiest fighters in the game. joe knew when and how to outwork hopkins in what was a very close fight that would have gone the other way if joe didn't pick his spots well as he did. beating roy jones was meaningless, just another sad announcement of the prolonged end of one of the best fighters (with the worst attitude) we saw in the last generation.

 

Some of u dont understand the fact that Calzaghe has been struggling with his brittle hands throughout his career. His hands are that fragile even with boxing gloves on so what do u think will happen if he fights somebody barefisted?? Plus mosley has a granite chin and a hard head so go figure..
