Sergio had the horrible habit of taking the middle rounds off @154, I can't see Shane not touching that china chin and putting him on the mat eventually, is that enough to beat him, I don't know, Interesting theoretical match up Mosley has issues with boxers, Sergio and his hands down style doesn't exploit that, he can't duplicate what FMJ, Winky, ODH Forrest did. IMO Mosley Martinez would be like Mosley Margarito, the same Margarito that mopped the floor with Sergio, I'm not sure if Martinez is able to deal with faster fighters that have an understanding on cutting off the ring, his style is only working because he's fighting lessor bigger slower fighters so he can dart in and out, while seeing mostly everything, Mosley may be fast enough to close the distance on him how will his chin hold up to those speed and power also, he's no stranger to the canvas Mosely wasn't no chump, lets not overrate Sergio here, he would have took a few L's had he not ran to the cupcake MW division
Martinez is talented and im starting to become a fan , But i think Shane outpoints him . If the Mosley that fought Mayorga turns up , Sugar gets a boxing lesson .
Shane can't outbox him, and he won't be able to just walk in and outslug him, so what chance does he have? Martinez is all wrong for him. Shane is too straight up and down to try and outbox Martinez. Martinez will pick him apart slowly from the outside, starting with jabs and straight lefts to his body. Shane will get broken down slowly and will be lucky to get out without getting stopped. If Shane goes after him with reckless abandon like he did against Margarito, Martinez will use his legs to move out of the way and he's powerful enough to hurt Shane. Shane gets stopped if he uses this method. In a lot of ways, Martinez is similiar to Pacquaio in the sense if you go after him, he will knock you out. Shane's best chance would be to try to stay on the outside, but he's not a good enough boxer to win, so he should run like he did against Pacquaio. People on this board do not understand **** about boxing. They are underrating Martinez because Floyd's *****, ***** ASS, was too scared to fight him after calling him out. This is what they do to ALL of the guys Floyd AVOIDED. They break them down and make them look like ****. Meanwhile, Cotto, with the exception of the versions that fought Pacquaio and Trout, who were garbage, is one of the greatest boxers of all time.
Shanes footwork at 154 was never good, and he does not deal with southpaws very well either. Honestly don't see anything he can bring to give Martinez a hard time. Martinez wide UD or mercy stoppage.
For some reason when i envision this fight , I keep seeing Martinez being a sucker for Mosleys quick left hook and getting caught flush repeatedly due to his hands down style . We all know what happens when Mosley lands that sharp left hook , His opponents just drops . (Mayorga,Vargas)
i had mayorga at +650 in that fight. very close up to the 10th round. shane was never an a-level 154. prime winky agaisnt prime mosely, shane loses everytime.
