I hate when people drudge up this ridiculous logic that "If there is a big name star involved, IT MUST BE TWELVE ROUNDS".

Uh, no, morons. If there is no title (can be anything from the Ring Magazine or unified WBO/WBA/IBF/WBC to a minor vacant interim regional trinket) on the line, and it isn't an eliminator for one - it should be TEN, MAX.

No concrete prize at stake (either the hardware itself or an opportunity to contend for it, which is the prize in eliminators) - no 11th and 12th.

So yes, theoretically you can have 10-rounders that are main event status over 12-rounders if the former involves a competitive match-up between top guys and the latter is for some meaningless bauble.

 

I think Cano will bring it and get a competitive decision win.

It will be sad to watch, but I will.

 

Sad to see Shane fight these fights. I don't think its a $ issue, I just think it's tough to walk away from the competetion for him.

But as a Sugar Shane fan from when he was fighting on ESPN, I'll watch it.

People might point out that a shot old version of Morales stopped Cano, but 2011 was a bit of an "Indian summer" for El Terrible. He looked better in the loss to Maidana than during all three forgettable victories in 2010 and the preceding stretch of four losses (and 3-year initial retirement) since beating Pacquiao in 2005.

I also had Cano taking 5 of the first 7 rounds against Morales, and might have swept them had Morales not managed to land hurtful blows in the 4th and 6th to both rattle him and open the first of the cuts. Without all the facial damage, Cano might not have lost.

Shane doesn't have the intensity and work ethic 2011 Morales was showing. He isn't going to pizza face Cano. He also isn't going to knock him out with 1 shot.

Mosley has very little chance of doing anything but get smacked around in a loss.

 

It was becoming clear Mosley was coming back even though he's looked pretty bad in his last few fights.

I'm not sure who to pick at the moment but I'm thinking Cano takes this, being 10 rounds should help Mosley though. For a Fox spanish channel this isn't a horrible fight and atleast its not taking up Showtime dates.

 

Current Mosely is tailor made for Paulie.

To beat Paulie,you have to have a high output and be relentless.

2 things that 40 something Mosely does not have.

Paulie would just dance around and flick his jab in Shanes face for 12 rounds to win a unanimous decision

 

Guys come on how can we hate on Paulie for thinking of taking the fight with Mosley yet turn around and be okay with Mosley fighting a guy who basically beat Paulie?

How many years has it been since Shane won a round? when is the last time Mosley landed ten shots in one round on an opponent? The commissions should have retired Mosley as they did Holyfield after he fought Larry Donald.

 

Mosley is DONE. Total joke. Needs to stop.
