After reviewing for the upcoming fight of shane vs tony to decide on a smart bet. I have been tempted to place on Shane but after reviewing some of his old fights, i can't help to feel that shane have been very overated. Even in his prime, i just don't see him as a complete fighter. Very one dimensional and never adapted well. He have been riding on his physical gifts for years. He got great condition, speed, and power but i don't see great boxing IQ. AM lacks the physical gifts but he is bigger and have shown improvement every fight. I don't see a declining shane pulls this one out.

I pick Tony to win this fight, too.:good

    BUT...

What exactly has Tony improved over the past three years? He fights the same no matter what. WTF are you talking about?:huh

imo Shane has the skills and ability to do whatever he wants in the ring, but I don't think his ring IQ is enough to know what he should do and when he should do it.

For me the X factor in this fight is Nazim Richardson. If he can put a lot of BHop into Sugar Shane then I think Mosley will edge a tight decision. If Mosley fights his usual self he will lose something like 8-4.

by the way I thought Mosley beat Mayorga comfortably even though it looked sloppy. In my eyes Mosley is still pretty much one of the top15 fighters in the world.

Margarito's defense have greatly improved. He was almost unmarked against a sharp shooter like Cotto. He keeps a much tighter defense now as well as his punches. He is still slow as hell in the footwork area.

I agree. I had Mayroga losing 2 rounds going to the 12th. If mayroga knows more than the clubbing right then he probably would have won.... Margarito knows more than the clubbing right. Margarito to win ud or ko.

Shane is done. He struggled against a shot Mayorga and will probably get koed in this fight. Heck, i even think Pac can win against Mosley at this stage.

This could be the end of Shane Mosely as a high level competitor, but, on the other hand, he may have one more good fight left in him. This is honestly one of those fights where I wish they could both win.

Agree to a certain extent with Mosley. He had some unbelievable physical gifts in the ring but you're right, he never had the highest boxing IQ and lacked some ability to adjust especially when faced with a good jabber.

Exactly how I feel. H's always been extremely gifted/talented/skillied, but he isn't the smartest fighter in the ring, or even outside the ring.

Reviewing the pre Forrest fights will do you no good. The Mayorga fight will give you better insight on the outcome.

I think Margarito dominates this one, Shane may even get stopped.

been watching margo for quite a while now and he has defintely improved in areas. He's a little smarter in the ring than he used to be and at times will use a jab to work his way in on guys instead of just leading with powershots all the time. He also seems to be a better infighter than before as he now shortens his punches very well while in close, and holds a much tighter defensive guard than he used to. Of course he doesn't have the best defensive reflexes in the world so he's still quite hittable, but not as hittable as he used to be.

Shane struggles with big guys who have good reach for a jab and sound boxing skills. Tony is big but has neither the great boxing skills or the jab the Forrest has.
Shane looked horrible against Forrest and Winky but, Tony doesn't have the skills of either of these fighters.
I also don't feel that you can take much from the Mayorga fight. He was massive compared to Shane and always looks awkward. The fight looked sloppy as **** but Shane was winning on points and KTFO of Mayorga in the end. Margo is not as big as Mayorga and is as straight forward a fighter as they come.
