Shane Mosley's last 5 fights, Margarito win was overhyped

it was a huge dominant performance for mosley who had struggeled against mayorga and was dealing with his own out of the ring issues which got over shadowed due to his victory

Margarito was the man, after Mayweather left Cintron and Margarito unified (well one got stripped) Margarito then beat Cotto pretty much becoming the figure of the division, Paul Williams beat him but had since left the division and had lost at some point

Margarito was the man and Mosley beat him

win can be tarnished due to Margarito and his mental state

rumors said he didnt train very hard and had a battle with the scale

and no matter who ya blaim in the wrap scandal he got caught and knew win or lose that night he was ****ed

if i were antonio i woulda stayed in the dressing room that night and postponed or cancelled

but it is still a great win

Mayorga who gave Mosley fits just recently gave Cotto fits he is an unorthodox brawler and has only really been beaten once with real ease since hitting hte big scene

on the topic of Berto vs Mosley its a funny case. We can look at where Mosley wound up 0-2-1 but the losses were to the p4p 1's i say 1's cause theres a good debate on who is the best

no shame there the draw was controversial

is berto capable of performing at a mayweather or pacquiao level

no he isnt, so his record in his last 3 doesnt immedialey mean he is totally done

Berto doesnt have the defense or ring iq or other elements of floyds game to pitch a virtual shut out

Berto doesnt have the explosive attack Manny had to get his respect

Berto if fighting the right fight could beat Mosley and i think he shot his career in the foot by not fighting him when he had the chance

Berto hasnt beaten any one on Mosleys level and hasnt had a performance that whows he could

he fought a great war vs Ortiz and doesnt get much credit, Ortiz does big time

that aside in that fight he fought a terrible strategy early, through 5 rounds he sat on the ropes and just tried to take Ortiz head off with one punch

maybe after Quintana and that first rounder he bought his own hype on his power

round 6 he got on his toes used the middle of the ring and kicked Ortiz ass til the KD near the end

I think he won the next round too

i just watched round 6 and 7 today not sure why but its fresh

Like i said above Mosley is 0-2-1 in his last 3 but the 2 losses are to the best guys on the planet

Could Berto perform like that no he cant or if he can he hasnt shown it

Its because Mosley was "juiced up" with EPO Steroids/Hormones for the Margarito fight.

That fight was originally scheduled for vegas, but Vegas was gonna test Mosley for EPO, which is why Mosley had his buddy-DelaHoya move the fight from Vegas to California, so that Mosley can avoide detection of the illegally banned substance- EPO Steroids.

Thats why Margarito tried to use plaster inserts in the Mosley fight, cause Margarito was trying to "level out the playing field" against the steroid cheating-Mosley that night.

You can't deny that Margo was distracted in the Mosley fight. The way he entered the ring, you could tell his mind was on something else other than the fight. After the KO happened, I know if I were in his shoes, the last thing on my mind would be the the fight. All I would keep thinking about is potentially losing my job for life. However, you simply can't assume that a focused Margo would've beaten Mosley. Mosley had the strength to outmuscle him and not let Margo pressure him. That's something Cotto didn't have to beat Margo. Not to mention Mosley has an ATG chin. You need that against Margo.

 

He was distracted because he didn't know what to do without his hardening wraps.
