is rather weak outside of the de la fishnet fights (the 2nd one being close and mosley was balco'd up).

because of this, i have a tough time ranking him above fighters of this era like mayweather, fishnet, hopkins, pacquiao, and trinidad.

Yeah you can't put him above Oscar and Floyd just cos of their multi-weight acheivements....but he was as skillfull and classy a fighter as anyone in the last 15 years

mosley's skills were overrated. good, but not a mayweather or hopkins or jm marquez. he's very athletically gifted and tough.

there's also fighters that are far classier in defeat than mosley was for the fights with winky and forrest.

definitely, mosley was ferocious and extremely athletic, but he was never a ring wizard like BHop or PBF. He always got hit, even against B-level fighters and if things didn't go his way, he wasn't all that good at strategically turning things around. He was usually a lot of fun though and a classy guy.

I tend to rate Mosley higher head to head than I do based on his resume, and I think he could have accomplished a lot more in his career had a few things been different, but that could be said about any fighter.

mosley is the man, he moved up 2 weight divisions to beat the man!

he didn't rn and pot shot to a decision but he out punched, out hustled and out smarted de la hoya.

    good contribution.

i mean it totally relates to the topic of mosley not having a strong resume of wins outside of the dlh fight.

Not twice. And Mosley DID beat De La Hoya twice.

he was balco'd up for the rematch.

that should be marked with an asterisk.

He has some other good wins, like over lightweight champ Phillip Holiday (when Mosley was green) and Luis Collazo (when Shane was past it). I agree it's not that great of a resume though (win-wise).

3 division titlist...wins against molina, Leija, DLH (already mentioned), Collazo, Vargas X's 2, Morales (no, not eric), holliday etc...yes the man must be grossly over rated...c'mon

besides the fishnet, those other wins are mostly decent wins, but not enough to put him over the likes of mayweather, the fishnet, pacquiao, hopkins, etc..

He had DLH's ticket, but not many other peoples'. That beng said Mosley is still one of my favorite boxers. He generates a lot of excitement in the ring. I don't think he is on the same level as DLH or PBF (record wise) but he definitely is a fighter people would pay to watch over and over again, and a very dangerous opponent to anyone.
