Regardless of his opinion, Margo knew what was being taped on his hands and deserves to be punished.

 

wasn't there a thread on here post fight where Mosley said Margarito "has great power and stunned me several times"

yet in Mosley's interview on ESPN he says Marg's illegally wrapped hands wouldn't have made a difference since he didn't get hit with anything anyway

I agree. He should be banned and pay a big fine, or "Mo Mail".

Naturally, Mosley would want to downplay the knowledge a fighter has about what's going in, and make it look like the fighter might just be duped into doing something dirty.

True, since that was his excuse for using performance enhancers. It wouldn't look good on him to be all self-righteous and claim Margo knew when he swore that he didn't know what he was doing was illegal as well. Plus he's probably happy with the result of the fight and is considered a nice guy which is how a lot of people saw Margarito before this fiasco.

If we assume that it was the first time Capetillo used it then it's possible Margo did not notice since the substance was not supposed to harden until late in the fight. It would have just looked like regular gauze to Margarito. He didn't object to rewrapping nor was nervous from all accounts. It was only his trainer that was sweating a bucket when forced to rewrap.

It just doesn't seem within Margarito's character to cheat in that manner. According to some sources Margarito was really heavy coming into camp and spent most of the time getting down to weight. It's possible that his trainer did it to give him an edge without his knowledge.

 

Yeah, it looks bad. Their camp's excuse of "we prepared the gauze 2 weeks in advance and it got hard from the humidity" is suspect, to say the least. Hopefully this gets cleared up in a conclusive manner. The CSAC hasn't released what the substance was. How long does it take to test it?

Probably much shorter than it is for the CSAC to think of ways to cover its ass.

I used to be more of one, in the early to mid 90s, but I'm poor at keeping up with more recent music in general. I have a few of his older songs on my I-Pod: Mo Mail, Welcome to the Ghetto, Jealous Got Me Strapped, guest appearances like Dusted N Disgusted, Gangsta Team. clearly didn't get close to hit as many times as Miguel Cotto did .. so even if Mos was stunned it probably didn't get to him a great deal. (didn't look to slow him down)

**beyond the hand wrap issues, I have to wonder physically how Margarito can come back and just how much the kayo loss took out of him.
