"It all appears that Green will fight Taylor Former World Boxing Association light heavyweight champion Danny Green has challenged Shannan "The Bulli Blaster" Taylor to a fight later this year. Green last week announced he was coming out of retirement to fight Anthony Mundine but "The Man" has put that possible fight on the backburner for the time being.

Mundine scored a points win over Taylor in their WBA international middleweight title fight at WIN Entertainment Centre last week.
"We said we probably would accept (Green's challenge) but at nothing bigger than super middleweight (76.2kg)," Taylor's trainer Brad Gallagher said yesterday.

Taylor fought Mundine at middleweight (72.57kg) and said later that he planned to fight in future in the junior middleweight division.
Matchmaker Angelo Hyder contacted the Taylor camp late yesterday afternoon to convey the Green challenge.

"We are a bit miffed that Green came out the day before the Mundine fight (against Taylor) announcing his comeback from retirement," Gallagher said.
"Shannan fought heaps better against Mundine than Green did."
A possible date and venue would still need to be decided.

and from Taylor's facebook he just posted
"Danny Green wants to fight me at light heavy weight oh yes is the answer."

Should be the start of a great rivalry i reckon. Probably the best match this country has seen in a lon g time.:patsch

If this is true, i'll lose a lot of respect for Danny.

First time for everything....I agree with you sallywinder.....I think Taylor will go well against Green.....Taylor will also slow Green down a bit with a few head butts and a few nut shots.

To me this fight just helps build up the Mundine VS Green fight in 18mths.

In the end Taylor will be quite small at LHW and a bit fat as well but he did go the distance with Mundine and still looked fit enough to compete

Aussie boxing is bordering on becoming a fully fledged soap opera like 'Neighbours' & 'Home & Away' !!

What a joke. In all honesty danny has become a big joke just like his nemisis mandy. Wins a world title, relinquishes it, then announces comeback & goes straight for the Oz local scene. Thats the difference between wannabe world champions like these 2 wankers & true champions like kostya. Everytime he came back from injury it was against a quality top world class opponent. And look at Vic. Bounces back from a devasting loss with wins against top notch fighters.

Mate I just think its a build up to Green VS Mundine.....just like Green and Soliman did before...they will fight Mundines old foes and try to beat them quicker than Mundine did.

What you have to realise is Mundine and Green are simply not in the class of true champions like Vic and KT. That's why they are bleeding the Aussie public dry.
