Pity the sparring of them wasnt filmed years back when Tszyu nearly killed him after taylor tried his elbowes etc,
What a waste . Smash fighters that were suppose to test him .Then look awful against people he should have finished in a few rounds. Word is he deluded himself about how hard he trained.
Taylor still remains pretty bloody proud of his showing against Tszyu.. as he should. 17y/o when they met, I think the pro. match up would have packed the Stadiums.
****, from the first bit i saw shannon was giving it to kt. By the way, what year was this??I thought kt only fought in the am's in russia wat country is this in
Not sure what country mate, although Tszyu fought all over the world. Taylor was no slouch at all, and missed the World Championships by a single punch that KO'd him.... 1990 might have been the year?
seriously, I 'm really impressed with what appears to be shannon taylor, he was mixing it up with 1 of the best jnr welterweights of all time. Thats pretty impressive..
One of the best jW/W of all time?? Ranser, I cant think of a better one mate.. lol. Even with the floored career that Tszyu had, it's near impossible for myself to see any jW/W bettering him on a good night.
From a very early age, Shannan was showing that his grasp of the finer points of technical boxing put him way ahead of his age. He may not go down as another Fammo or Lionel, but it would have only took a few small measures & a bit of luck to keep him on the straight & naroow which would have had him pretty close the the hearbeat of our best. In the ring, he was a class act, there's no doubting that, until short cuts started to sneak in.
I suppose its the same thing, when the fighter becomes a bigger name and the sycophants start to hang around the fighter has less time to train properly.
Whittaker, prime Chavez, De La Hoya, Trinidad i would think all are capable of matching/beating Tszyu on their best night
