I dont need to wake up fresh.. Tell me about Pernell toss pot.... You rate him as a fkn great jW/W.. Why??
He never campaigned at 140 BUT that doesn't mean he wouldn't beat Tszyu. You ask any knowledgeable boxing person around the world as to who would win between prime Whittaker and Tszyu and i can guarantee you at least 80 % would say Whitakker you tosspot. You need a good rest mate.
Chavez beat no great fighters........... ? Seriously. Rosario, Ramirez, Taylor, Mayweather, LaPorte , Lockridge, Camacho, Haugen were all world champions. Some of them multi weight. He also had more world title fights than any man in history. I consider him an all time great, as do many more. But if he is not by your criteria neither is Tszyu. Who do you consider Kostyas greatest victories ? Then tell me they were better than Buddy McGirt, who Pea beat at welterweight. He beat Vasquez at light middle who beat Winky Wright amongst others. According to box rec Whittaker was down twice against Hurtado ( undefeated at the time ) in the first and sixth, not the 5 times someone on here mentioned. He was also not seriously hurt unlike a certain Tszyu. But these are only my opinions, so who in your opinions did Tszyu beat, that are remotely in the same class as a prime Chavez, Mosley, Trinidad, De La Hoya, Quartey etc etc oh and Whittaker ? And why did they ALL duck Tszyu ( and not vice versa ) yet happily fight each other. Then to finish off, show me a fighter that beat a prime version of the above by stoppage or points that was not as good as Vince Phillips.
So... you base your opinion on others and their views. Very original. ........."BUT"......... Yes, a short campaign at jW/W.. Shortly to leave for the sake of searching higher ground as was the fashion of the day. Tszyu campaigned at jW/W from 1992- retirement. Would 1960 Cassius Clay beat LH/W Roy Jones?? Clay began as a LH/W... Same poor arguement.
Im talking about Kostya Tszyu being the best jW/W I've ever seen. I couldn't give two spidots what these blokes did at higher weights. IF these wankers stayed at jW/W, how would they have fared against a dynamo designed for the jW/W division. P.S. F-Wit75.. I hope this post is given the 'thumbs up' by you also.
Oh dear. Flamengo can you please stop digging an even greater grave for yourself on this thread my friend. It's starting to get embarrassing for you.
Ok.. I win. So.... when are you coming to Melb?? You sound like the kind of guy I'd enjoy a beer with.
Chavez and De La Hoya were awesome at 140 themselves. Tszyu never faced anyone remotely as good as the 140 versions of Chavez and Oscar. And please don't embarrass yourself and mention that Tszyu beat Chavez at 140 because we all know Chavez was shot to **** then. Tszyu's win over an old Chavez = Danny Green's win over an old Roy Jones.
Trinidad beat all comers at welter. Pea beat McGirt at welter, who is better than anyone Tszyu faced. De La Hoya beat Quartey at welter. Chavez at Light welter. Chavez beat Taylor at Light Welter. So i think they fit your criteria, now please tell me in what way is Tszyu better than Trinidad ? What was Kostyas best victory and in what way was it better than beating Buddy McGirt. Or Ike Quartey and Chavez ? Which of those fighters was beaten by a worse fighter than Phillips at light welter or welter ?
Im 1 of the biggest Chavez fans around...& have massive respect for Whitaker too who fought just about everyone around his weights. Trinidad at Welterweight was a beast & a half. Both i would back heavily prime for prime vs Kostya Tszyu...just my opinion. If only any of these matchups came about.
