Every loss he seems to have some excuse. He should face the fact that it's time for him to hang up the gloves. Weak chin, weak mind.
He used to enjoy a bit of street fighting too. Apparently he beat up 9 guys outside a pub once, though that sounds a bit far fetched, but who knows?! He also had a blue with Chris Caruana once, and apparently Caruana held his own and didn't disgrace himself. He also looks like Ben Kennedy.
Actually, CC did more than held his own, he thumped him apparently. It was in a the pokie room at the Five Dock hotel a couple of weeks after his loss to Mosely, and it was all coming out about how he and Fenech had a falling out the day before the fight, and how Taylor ignored Fenech's advice of resting up and eating a good raspberry pancake breakfast on the day of the fight - he was out on the strip in Vegas, shopping and partying the night before. A few days after he arrived back in Australia, he was in the news because he crashed his manager's car. Then a few days later, the CC incident occurred. They were mates, and CC was having a drink with him, and things turned ugly for one reason or another, but from all accounts, staff had to drag CC off Tayor, as he was handing out a beatdown :yep Sounds like he was on a serious downwards spiral after that loss, but he can only blame himself for it.
Nice little article on Seconds out today about him. In regards to his sparring partners, apparently an out of shape Mick Mlacic and Punching bag Joel Burke give him all he can handle in the gym.
No doubt he's well past his best, but he was once a great fighter, no doubt about it. The fact he can hang with Arthur Abraham for 12 rounds in Germany 13-20 pounds above his best weight is a testament to what was a class fighter. He's far from being a saint, that's for sure, but I wonder how many know about his charity work etc that he does without being publicised? The view must be good from up on the high horse...
He still has a name that will sell tickets so I guess he will keep promoting himself until he can undo all the bad that caradonna put him through
That fight was a joke though. Abraham didn't throw much at all for some reason. Very unusual fight, both guys seemed a bit too timid for themselves, well Shannon apparently had a broken rib, but who knows.
