Oquendo hasn't fought in 3 years, impossible to know how much he has left. He also pulled out of the rematch with Chagaev due to a shoulder injury and you have to wonder why he hasn't fought since, is the shoulder OK, is he even fully fit to fight?

I don't know who will win but I'll be rooting for Briggs, I find this act of his amusing.

You got to admire his enthusiasm and never ending self-promotion

One of a kind. Great "Persona" he plays.

Briggs to KO Fres if he can manage to catch him clean Before gassing out himself

Otherwise Briggs will lose a decision

Such a bizarro world fight. How is this fight happening in 2017? This would have been 10 years late if it was announced five years ago.

probably the worst consequence of wlad losing to fury

two guys who couldn't hack it 10 years ago just need to wait in the weeds and grab a "belt"

how are these guys even ranked anywhere. when's the last time either beat a ranked fighter

This fight would of happened even if Wlad was still champion. This is for the regular belt remember, Chagaev was the regular WBA title holder when Wlad was champion. Joshua is a current Super WBA champion.

I think Briggs will knock Oquendo out...................even thought Vitali nearly killed Briggs, put him into the hospital with a broken jaw, nose, eye ball socket, etc., the ref should have stopped that fight.............Oquendo was not a good fight in his prime, much less now, Briggs is not a lot better, but good enough to knock Oquendo out...............

I hope Briggs wins but think that Oquendo is the better boxer

Briggs is good for the game. People sometimes take him too seriously, but what he does is entertaining and fun.

Sure, these guys are old, sure they're not world class anymore, but it's a fun fight, potentially competitive and worth watching.

Does the winner need to fight Ustinov?

Oquendo was a good fighter. If he has anything left he'll beat Briggs. Both fighters should of hung up the gloves long time ago.

The last time these guys were in their primes, Osama bin Laden was driving merrily around Afghanistan listening to Sisqo's "Thong Song".
