Teddy Atlas spilled the beans that a Vitali-Shannon fight in the works for the fall in Germany. Certainly this explains why he hasn't made on his promise to fight every month, but is he ready for this big a step up yet? Rob Calloway is a good fighter, but he's was about as likely to beat Briggs as Sosnowski was Klitschko. Briggs has a serious puncher's chance, but what's the likely outcome of this fight?
Vitaly should retire. No reason to subject his body to the rigors of the ring to put names like Briggs on his resume. No disrespect to Briggs, but it has been some time since he was a serious contender. Also, ironically, it is a surprisingly dangerous fight for Klit. Briggs hasn't got much, but he has fast hands and mad power. I will still predict that Vitaly wins comfortably.
Vitali should just rest and try to find a better opponent. Maybe Solis, Adamek or maybe Valuev eventually agrees to a fight.
Vitali was considering Solis, could happen, but Solis has a fight coming up, then there is Valouev who has a rematch clause with coward Haye.
Meh. Teddy Atlas also said he personally saw the drug test coverup e-mails around the first negotiations for Mayweather- Pacquiao. Atlas is a commentator and trainer. I'll leave the journalism stuff to Rafael.
Vitaly has a contractual obligation for one more fight with RTL. After this fight he will retire. This should happen no later than the first half of October due to his involvement in an upcoming election in Ukraine...
