As much as I'd hate to see Briggs get another undeserved shot, I kind of agree. IMO Briggs could make it interesting for a little while at least, and though there are more than a few more deserving than briggs, but who is really available that's gonna be a better matchup? as you said, briggs at least has the size and power and hand speed to push vk a bit

Briggs is a waste of time and it's not going to happen.

If Briggs is seriously considered then that probably also means talks with Valuev have hit a roadblock. Too bad. Its been 3 years now that Valuev and Vitali have been talking about the fight and still nothing. Oh well, another fight that wasn't meant to be I guess.

Vitali is really out of good options. With the wet fanny holding his paper title hostage and Valuev disgracing himself further, there are not any big fights out there for him. It's just a matter of how long Vitali wants to continue to fight and dominate these types of opponents. Maybe young guys like Solis or Boytsov will step up.

But it would be entertaining to watch Vitali beat up Briggs after all his talking.

I expect Wlad to turn his attention to Adamek after Povetkin as he will be the best hw remaining to fight and the most marketable...It woud be cool if they could get something done in the states for December on HBO. I believe Adamek has the desire and balls to fight Wlad.

And some people wonder why most boxing fans don't give a rat's behind about the heavyweight division. :patsch

That will be the only silver lining in this. Vitali should really step aside and let Wlad bask in the full glory and attempt to unify, as he's the much better heavyweight right now. One or two more of these gimmes to round out his comeback, and then bow out gracefully before his body breaks down and while Wlad still has time to shine.

Briggs would make a better fight than Valuev as sad as that sounds. I realize that Valuev has been a belt holder and has been active etc etc but the only thing interesting about VK - Valuev will be whether the wolly mammoth can be put down. Valuev has less for Vitaly that Briggs does. The only reason that NV has been competitive with the fringe contenders he's beaten is b/c of his huge size advantage. Against vitaly he'll not be competitive
