I can see an early KO for either man or a tired load of nothing. Could go either way in that respect.

I think the longer it goes, the more of a chance Golota has of either a late stoppage or a decision, as he can outwork Briggs easily. However, there is a definite chance of an early KO/TKO for the Cannon.

at this point, shannon doesn't have the energy to try and overwhelm golota early. once golota gets by the first couple he's usually fine no matter who he's fighting. if both are anywhere close to recent form, golota should take this easy: although shannon will land a few big ones and probably hurt him a couple of times (golota isn't slick enough to stay out of reach especially now).

Briggs by decision or Golota by TKO.

This is gonna be fun. 2 contenders from the 90's who never quite made it to the top (though Briggs won the WBO belt from Lyakhovich) going at it in the twilight of their careers. I'd put this fight in AC as both guys have long histories there. It'd probably sell out right away.

This has the makings of one of those fights where Briggs can come out and steamroll Golota in the first round but I have a feeling that Golota will survive what will most likely be an early onslaught and go on to win a decision. Briggs just doesn't throw punches and if ever there was a time to throw them it would be now cuz Golota will be there to be hit. Anyway, I'm rooting for Golota and here's hoping he can pull it off.

A genuinely interesting fight to me, both because I've followed both guys throughout their careers and also because neither can be considered a strong favourite.

Briggs is a slow mover but Golota isn't exactly spritely either. Briggs has power and handspeed, Golota can box and throw in combination better.

It would've been a lot better fight in their primes, but even with this older slower version it could be a sleeper hit, a bit like Holyfield-Savarese.
