Briggs is shot as a fighter, he will not beat any top 10 HW fighter out there, In boxing and in MMA, he could beat everybody in the world who stands and fights, but do you think any MMA fighter is going to do that.

Briggs is just like mercer, done in boxing so lets try MMA and then is no money in it, so they just give it away.

Nice vids Chuffy. But seriously what is the point in this? Briggs was (the operative word being WAS) a world class boxer who was also a world class journeyman. Why on earth is he flirting with MMA? Just stick to boxing Shannon.

Briggs had the talent to be more in boxing and to even be successful in MMA. His size, speed and power are impressive. Put him in 4-6oz gloves and he can do serious damage. The issue is his dedication. Like Mayorga, Toney and Mercer these guys are currently dedicated to one martial art let alone 5 or 6.

Then again I hope it makes fighting interesting for them and they relish the chance to learn new things. Briggs looked good versus Erikson. If a boxer fights in any combart sport he needs to be light on his feet so he can avoid kicks and grappling. Briggs has this quality.

I just saw on boxrec that in his last fight in December he tested positive for a substance.

Even if Briggs came to MMA at this very late stage in his career I think he would be the best pure boxer to fight in MMA (except probably Mayorga).

Not to say Briggs was a better boxer than Mercer Prime for Prime, but Briggs is only ancient and not super ancient.

Briggs hasn't been light on his feet in years.

This is true but Briggs was a big bloke against Erikson. When he fought Erikson he was around 260, roughly what he is now. If he needs to make the 265 limit then he should be okay.

Briggs, like in boxing, has the talent but it is what he does with it that will dictate his success.
