Best weight since 2005. It's better for him, for his overall health too not to be in that 270 range again. He could stand to lose some more weight yet but at least it's in the right direction. I'll be shocked if he doesn't get a KO1 again, then it's off to Calloway next week.
Alexander will be KO'd in 1 or 2 max and Calloway within 3, so he doesn't have to do much. I'm sure he will win, but against live bodies he only has his a (big) punchers chance. Don't think he ever will be a force in HW.
U cant dispute Briggs punching power though. Anyone who can get chin checked has a chance to lose to him.
Last time I checked Briggs was a 1 time champ (WBO), or you have to count the highly regarded IBU title. In any case even Herbie Hide has a better championship record (twice WBO with succesfull defences) in the same period and Tua is also regarded much higher than him.
This whole Briggs "comeback" is a joke....hes fighting bums that he can knock out in the first round or guys that want no part of him and are going down once they feel some power and btw he weighed in at 268 lbs for the Meehan fight, boxrec shows 258 i think but the video of the weigh-in showed 268
just shows how messed boxing is when some guys have a better record than others yet soem are considered former champs like ruiz for example and tua eat him up in a round LOL I like a briggs rahman or toney fite myself
HA typical.... 2 time world champ.... Linear Title WBO Title You didn`t even make a point you just stated your opinion, not many guys can say they are a 2-time world heavy weight champ.
And think about how few guys can say they're a 2-time world heavyweight champ and at the same time are COMPLETELY BROKE without a dollar to their name. Then these poor 2-time world heavyweight champs even go on marketing campaigns trying to trash talk their way into title shots just to earn a mercy paycheck instead of working their way towards an eliminator fight and a mandatory shot. Disgusting, isn't it!
