Come on now lets not pretend that Briggs stands a chance. :bart As far as Im concerned the only way you beat Vitali is if you are a fast offensive boxer-puncher with good stamina. That aint Briggs. Ah well, It will be nice to hopefully see Vitali take some shots for a change.
Exactly. Briggs is a known name, and give the extremely limited number of credible, available and willing opponents (which amounts to none), I'd conclude Vitali *staying active* against the powerful, famous Shannon Briggs is not a bad choice, afterall. Who else is there who is willing to fight him? What else is there for the guy to do, beat Arreola again just to see if he can make him cry sooner, this time?
Simple fix. Merely don't watch it, and you'll be happy. Those who do want to watch it, will, and they'll also be happy. That way, we are all pleased as punch. (the word *punch* pronounced in Vitali's thick accent)
Haye obviously, or possibly Adamek, if he wins his next fight in dramatic fashion as is deemed a decent threat. I think Vitali would also take a Valuev fight after this, assuming the terms are credible. Just my opinion.
I respect Vitali for taking this fight. It is a all risk and no reward fight. Vitali has some balls for sure. Yeah Briggs is not that good but in the first few rounds he is dangerous. He has some major power. I feel Vitali is taking this fight so Wlad does not have to. He knows that wlad can't take Briggs punch so he is going to take care of briggs for him.
but haye and valuev want nothing to do with him, right? adamek maybe, but he may well decide he's not ready should K2 approach his team.
Oh by the way Valuev is a coward and he should retire. That big ape makes me sick. He is ducking Vitali for sure. Boxing has gone to hell because of fighters like Valuev. Vitali has only ducked one person in his whole career and that was rahman for some crazy unknown reason. He would have beat the hell out of rahman.
I think their hope is that Haye will beat Audley decisively enough to gain the confidence to take on a K brother. Or maybe that Valuev will be more agreeable to more reasonable terms........(seeing as how Valuev was just beaten in his last fight, and has no ground to be very demanding, as far was money goes)
I agree with your post 100% Not a big Klit fan, but I can't fault him for fighting the best guy available. And by the way, Briggs may not be at his prime, but he stil has decent handspeed and pop... And I thin Briggs will be game enough to go for the win and risk getting KTFO.
