Both Tarver and Briggs surprised me. They ditched their poser-like, self-serving, hyped up personnas, they constantly play and actually gave some honest appraisals tonight. It's good to see some sincerity from them both. I hope this is what they are really like, outside of boxing.
Briggs was made for calling the fights. I didn't know who he was at first, as I tuned in a little late. He was glib, well spoken, and an improvement over Teddy Atlas to say the least.
I detected that Briggs was rooting for Byrd just a little bit early on, but to his credit, he got that under control. I enjoyed the change of pace.
Hell, yeah. In a round or two, he provided more on target commentary than Atlas does in an entire show. :nod
