He was good at commentating, yes. Well spoken and very professional sounding.. He sure does balloon up when he's not fighting. I bet he was pushing 325....WOW. A bear of a man.
during the interview with george he looked to be about 350 lbs. liked the commentary though and the top 5 reasons he wouldnt fight at lt. heavy. i got to meet him at the hopkings cal fight and he seemed like a pretty cool guy, very freindly
Yes, Shannon did a splendid job tonight. However, it's obvious he's over 300lbs. If Shannon believes he can fight and be competitive he's sadly mistaken.
No contest. Atlas is a robotic commentator with an annoying "I am so much smarter than all of you" type delivery. He acts as if every problem in the world weighs heavily on his shoulders. Every tortuously repeated comment oozes with an inflated ego. He acts as if he's some profound philosopher of boxing but what he says is often so obvious and so basic, it lacks any substance or merit to be repeated over and over again. I would love to see tonight's version of Tarver replace this *****.
If only his punch output matched his word output. Seriously though, Briggs is an articulate guy and would make a very good announcer. He should definitely look into it. Tarver's great behind the mic as well. Overall, a good show tonight with quality guests. :good
Well Briggs is an actor and Tarver has acted, it doesn't surprise me that they are both well oiled talking machines.
I was surprised, really. He was very analytical, subjective, and pretty fluent in his color commentary. If I didn't know it was Shannon "The Mouth" Briggs, I would of posted about how the new commentator is a damn good addition. Hopefully he maintains that role, as opposed to the cocky idiot that tries to promote his fights.
He [Briggs] is. I saw an interview on Youtube which was kind of a private one, at his home. He was really laid back, funny, didn't mind questions about his KO losses or low punch output. Most of the trash talk is just an act. I didn't know it was Briggs that commented, but i did think he was excellent.
I thought Shannon did a good job last night. He was funny too. "Top 5 reasons Briggs won't fight at 175"
I liked the team of Brian Kenney and Shannon Briggs alot bigger then Tessatore and Atlas. Tessatore's voice just annoys me and he gets a little to over excited for things he shouldn't be that excited about. And Atlas is just an abortion. I swear to god if I have to hear him say how the taller guy should be fighting inside and should use his height I'll ****in shoot myself. Kenney is a good announcer with a good knowledge of the sport and is clearly a big fan of the sport and you can tell he really enjoys being at the fights. And he is honest to. He lets guys who have paper titles know they have paper titles and he sticks by his guns. But he doesn't do it in a disrespectful way. I hope to see the duo of Briggs and Kenney more often.
Was just about to make a topic about this til I saw yours. I absolutly agree on that. Shannon was pretty good comentator tonight. And he was pretty funny too. Remember the 5 reasons Shannon won't fight at Light Heavy? Number 1 was somthing about Donuts or somthing.
