Just re-watched a fight where he substituted for Teddy Atlas, and i think he's one of the best commentators who is also a boxer. He's got a good voice, doesn't stumble, sense of humor... plus he doesn't run out of breath after half a round like he does in the ring. :yep
You know, I watched those fights on ESPN 2 when Briggs was commentating for the absent Atlas and I too thought he did a pretty good job. I liked his relaxed and open style. I'd like to see him do more of that rather than fight.
I need to watch that. But somehow, my mind cant take him seriously as a commentator right now. Mr. Pineapple head. :yep
Yeah, I've heard him a few times on "Friday Night Fights" and he did a pretty good job. I'd also agree that he's better then Lewis.
There have bee quite a few guest commentator boxers on Friday Night Fights that have done a nice job. As much as I don't like him, Allen Green did a nice job. I like Briggs too. Seeing that Versus is going to have as many as ten cards next year, I'd like to see them pick up a boxer to co-host. Those guys they have on now are horrible.
The ability to speak well, and a willingness to speak well as often as possible. (P.S. This is a Canadian interperatation of the term)
