http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=23546&more=1 Anyone interested in a fight between David Haye and Shannon Briggs if Haye decides he does not fancy the Klitchko jobs?
Everyone will call him out because he is the easiest way to a world title and the guy who has pretty much options open.
I agree Maz and it's great the more that call him out the more Haye grows as a product and his earnings will go through the roof...:yep Good on him, he is doing everything that Harrison never so far...:good
Shannon Briggs is irrelevant now and is just trying to get one last big pay day. The thing is, he will probably get one because he is a good talker and is a 'name' in the States. However, I think it will be against another American in a high profile fight and not for a 'world' title. At least I hope that is the scenario...
Imagine if you could combine Haye and Audley...it would be the greatest boxer to ever fight at heavy...Haye's publicity and the godly boxing of Audley.
I hope beyond hope that Haye fights Wlad next but if not I think Shannon is an ok name. Huge punch and a big guy even if his best days are a long long way behind him it could be made into an interesting fight compared to alot of the other options.
I was gutted when Harrison never did anything all them years ago as technically he had the lot...:yep I think there are to many factors why it did not work out but he should have signed with a very known promoter he has produced a number of great World Champions...:good He should have also got a trainer that would have took no crap and kicked his arse when needed...:good
haye wont go any where near this, the money is with the klitchko's and he knows it, reeks of desperation imo
He also knows one fight with the Klits will pretty much finish his career at the top level so he could be wise to fight a few pretenders like Shannon and earn his money before getting KTFO.
i think haye has a good chance against either of the klits, albeit, 30-40%, whereas, why go in against briggs, risk the KO, as all credibility he has built up will be lost in a flash. smart move is to fight the klits whilst he has the chance
Has anyone seen how Briggs has looked in recent fights? I'm not sure he's the right opponent for David right now (or at any time in the future!) - he's been obscure for a while now but can still crack and take one in return.....
I think Haye would destroy him even with his decent chin. I think it is one of the few fights that may appeal to the yanks if not Klit fight gets made. Personally if he comes through Arreola I want to see Adamek vs Haye at somme point soon and that fight could be huge stateside.
