I must admit I do admire Briggs in going the distance with Vitali, he took an awful shellacking that night. I couldn't believe that fight wasn't stopped, I was cringing. Hats off to Shannon Briggs.
What new did Shannon tell us: "George Foreman hits hard"? We didn't know that; We are very grateful for this information. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/mount-rushmore-of-hw-punchers.709690/
Do you get an alert every time I comment or something? While I admit I’m flattered at the attention, it would mean a lot more if you could actually quote me directly.
Yes, it's called a BS detector. Seriously, why would you think that, I've had about four or five debates with you in, what, six months. Which is noting, really. Do you have an alert every time No Neck comments? Why would I quote you when I wasn't talking to or about you?
Foreman’s devastating power was fairly diminished by 1997. Guys were taking him the distance more often
Yes, it's called a BS detector. No. I haven't even interacted with him in two months. I actually avoid doing so because I said, he's an agenda driven troll, who adds nothing of value to this forum. Really? Who was your "8 year old's dude." comment directed at?
Yeah, a bad decision but it was almost poetic in so far as allowing George to show how far he had personally evolved since his losses to Ali and Young. A real punctuation mark to the compelling story and final chapter to his comeback and associated personal development. Even though they didn’t duly make it official, he went out a winner as both a fighter and a man. And, in the bigger scheme of things, George retiring at that point was probably the best thing that could happen despite his highly creditable performance.
Yeah, I recall that. Does anyone remember when he was coming out in Ring as a prospect and they were positioning him as a young Ali, a poet? Such a joke.
It’s funny cause some here, want to blame his abysmal performance against George on his asthma, yet give him zero excuses for his loss to Wilson which he Actually blamed on his asthma (unlike the Foreman bout). I suppose Briggs’ asthma issues are only relevant when they serve an agenda.
I think that night Tua fought and another up and comer. HBO called it something like NIght of the Young Heavyweights? Briggs was the only one that lost though, and was put on the scrap heap.
