This cuts to the heart of it. I'm glad he's OK, but the corner dropped the ball.

I really hope that he is ok. But just because his injuries aren't life threatening now, doesn't mean that he won't suffer serious effects later on down the road.

yes your right, this should be the end of his boxing career now.I doubt theres a fan in the world who wants him to fight again. He can retire with pride knowing he had a good career.Hope this dosent affect his health in the long run

They should not have let him take a beating like that

He was losing badly, Vit is a hell of a puncher, and he's never been KO'd all these factors should have led to the corner stepping in and stopping that fight

preferably before 9.5 rounds but whatever

Thing is Briggs doesn't win on points, he wins by KO. He actually landed his best shot of the fight in the 11 th I think. He was way behind, but in the heavyweight division 1 punch can change the fight. Lyakhovich?

I agree they probably shouldn't hvae stopped it. The twelth round was pretty bad if it was a 15 round fight they probably would have stopped it right there. But as the above poster just stated Shannon landed is best punch in the 11 round and actually if he had of had the stamina to go for it right there could have won the fight. His will was never broken then there was no reason to denie him the chance to continue. Hope he gets well soon. And I also agree hopefully he's done with boxing. He's a smart, well spoken man he shouldn't have a problem finding something else to do with his time.

Glad to know this but those injuries might show their signs in the long run. The fight should have stopped right after the 7th or 8th. At worst the 10th when Vitali was just all over him and Briggs barely did anything to counter.
