Shannon Briggs's post from ESB front page:

"Clit you bitched out from me numerous times with your *** ass. Cut the **** *****. You used my name to secure a fight date at Madison Square Garden and had me waiting by the fax machine for 8 weeks before your hoe ass went and fought Calvin Brock who is from North Carolina. You have had many chances to fight me but your china chin scared ass has avoided me and used every excuse in the book. Now you want to fight little ass David Haye. Don't sleep he may even knock your ***** ass out. The only thing you have going for your self with him is he's a boxer and chooses to run then attack your ***** ass. So calm all that loud ***** talk until you step up and fight some big boys who punch as hard as you do and harder."

I think that was when Wlad opted to fight top American prospect Calvin Brock instead.
I thought it was a good idea.

  4. Briggs would get stopped. I like Shannon and all but this wouldn't be good for him. Wlad would TKO him in the mid rounds. Afterwards, about a year or two later Shannon would get back on the comeback trail to reclaim glory for america and clean up the heavyweight division again for the 3rd time.

Somebody is looking for an easy payday/titleshot 'cause he thinks he deserves it after winning one piece of the title he couldn't even defence one time...

Besides, fighting D-class fighters after a long lay-off won't get him no title shot:patsch

    Yep.
If he would have defended the title, he would have gotten a chance at Wlad by now. It's Briggs' own fault.

For as much as he talks, you'd think his competition would be better than this guy.
(And for all those saying the Klitschko's win by size alone, take a look at his size, and record).

I hope this fight never happens. Briggs is too slow and roided up to even throw combinations.

Now I found it in the comments to the article on Wlad interview to "On the Ropes Boxing radio." This post in comments is not credible.

Anyways "Behave yourself. Get into the line".

Shannon needs to quit talking all that smack and back it up. He hasn't fought good opposition lately, only tomato cans. I think he's way too slow and would get whooped by Wlad.

True or not true, Briggs couldn't even beat Ibragimov. Wlad would destroy Briggs. It would be Rahman all over again.

There's a good reason that Wladimir Klitschko has stayed away from Briggs. He is high risk little reward. Wlad does not like punchers unless they are also (relative) midgets. While Wlad is definitely the better fighter at this point; Briggs has the size and a big punch with just enough savy to land it, all of that together gives Briggs a higher chance of an upset than the usual Wlad opponent. There is no doubt that if Briggs caught him it's over.

More likely though is that Wlad makes it through and wins. Probably even stops him. But he gets little credit for beating a guy who's record is scattered with many underperfomances. The only way Briggs will get at Wladimir Klitschko is if he is made a mandatory, and with Briggs' lackadaisical style that will be a tall order. Briggs weakness is his abysmal workrate. Lesser guys with good chins will always beat him. Thus, he'll never get a shot at the guy on top who's chin is suspect.
