He still has the one-round-stamina. Man, he needs to hang em up or step up. What he does now gets him nowhere.
Even though these type of opponents are not up to much you still have to give Briggs credit for blasting them out in one round. Briggs did what he had to do.
Yup......like he's been doing since losing his WBO title. Taking on the bottom of the barrel and when he does step up, it's an opponent Welliver haterz claim is a D level fighter.:think Im sure Chauncey himself would be glad to give Briggs 12 rds. Win or lose......Welliver would be there for the fight.:thumbsup
in seconds actually. While Wilder and Huggie needed 2 rounds to bumbash him, Shannon put him away in 23 seconds. He even beat Ruiz jr's effort. But we already know he hits hard, so he should fight a guy who can stand upright for at least 4 rounds to see where he stands. He won't make big waves, but he can be a good chinchecker type gatekeeper. Although I dont think many would take that test freely
He'd be a HUGE win on ANY prospect or contenders resume. and if he's seriously chasing a title shot......he needs at least 2 of em before he gets one anyways. I think a guy like Browne, Ruiz Jr, Price, or Ustinov......someone who is in a NEED of a top quality name on their resume for global recognition would be seriously inclined to take the test freely...... BUT.......BUT......Briggs hasn't proven himself to be so brave when it comes to fighting similar quality fighters. nono:nono Notice that Briggs has almost always been all bark no bite when it comes to contending.......he's taken title fights when offered, but when Sauerland wanted him for Helenius before the DelBoy camp disaster, he had no inclination to be the 4th former world titlist to take his beating at the now, brittle hands off Helenius. :think:think:think
Ustinov handily beat Tua......hasn't opened ANY doors for him, though K2 seems intent on keeping Ustinov in the closet along with Banks.
