Shannon Briggs vs Michael Marrone on September 5th in Hollywood

    Shannon Briggs is still facing bums. He will fight Michael Marrone, who is 21-4 after 25 fights with 15 KO's. Marrone is currently ranked at #269 on Boxrec.

    He lost to Francesco Pianeta in 2008 (KO2), and he only has fought once since November 2011 when he suffered a TKO6 loss vs Guillermo Jones. His last fight was in September 2014, where he beat tomato can Robert Dunton by SD.

    Probably another KO1 and hoping that he gets a free title shot.

    Marrone is young enough at 29 for Briggs to be his dad (if Briggs were getting freaky in 9th grade...) but has fought just once in the last four years.

    (and he sucked even in his early twenties - feather in his cap was swiping the zero off fellow unbeaten pudgy white boy Malachy Farrell)

    It would be utterly DISGRACEFUL if Wilder or Wladimir gives this guy a shot prior to him beating two top 10 heavyweights.

    Briggs is a sideshow freak these days. His opposition is beyond laughable.

    I actually wouldn't mind seeing Briggs/Wilder..... He's going to avoid Povetkin anyways, why not? Certainly a lot worse opponents he could choose from, but Briggs is far too risky even at his age, so it won't happen.
