Up in the air for me. Both could punch hard and would put themselves in a position to be hit. I guess it just depends on who gets the better of the other first. Also who’s in better shape which I think most of the time would be Briggs.

I think the Peter that nearly beat Wlad takes this.

Tony Galento was better than Sam Peter

The second Wlad fight really destroyed Sam. I would give him a slight edge on the version previous to that fight.

It would look like the time Briggs sent Ray Mercer out of the ring on a gurney. Prime Briggs was wayyy too fast for Peter

Peter really was a tough guy or at least before he took those career hampering beatings. He fought fearless and was strong as a bull. He really took it to Wlad in that first meeting.

Yeah, he was scary. That Jeremy Williams KO was frightening.

His wreckage started in the 11th of the first Wlad fight. He never had a Plan B or much of a defense than his offense.

I think the beating he took from Vitali probably wasn’t too good for him either. By the time Robert Helenius got to him the poor guy should have been retired

I think it would be a good fight. I lean towards Briggs by mid rounds ko, but it would be a war.

Agree. They might as well only schedule that fight for 6 rounds and tell them to just go balls out

In what way ? I mean I’ve always seen Galento as a tough guy with a hard punch and a fighters attitude. But what did you see on film that made him better in your mind ?

Personally I fancy Briggs. He seems technically better and possibly with a better chin. On the other hand Peter I think hits harder with his best punch. I think Magoo might have the key to this question: Briggs tried to be in his best shape whereas Peter not so much.
