Definitely, to try and to build her social media hype up even more. It helps that Kugan is thirsty for her, absolutely desperate to shag her he is.

Never seen Umar IFL Umar having one interview with her.

If she'd have just fronted up and even done an interview after the fight whinging about the result it would have been fine and to be fair justified. But to storm off in a huff like a child and go underground for a week just shows where she's at.

Well we all knew this coming, Hearn has said something to her, others have too, she was pressured to say something.

I read the her statement, she said "don't be bitter, be better" yet no "Congratulations Rachel Ball"... Clearly NOT bitter , just remember she's NOT BITTER.

Also "unfair", hang on, your were the Matchroom fighter on a Matchroom card, you're a full time professional while your opponent was the "away" fighter and works full time.

I'm not saying those circumstances are in any way Courtenays problem or she had an UNFAIR advantage but she had many advantages.

Team Courtenay even changed the weight, they didn't think she could make the limit, so she had many things go in her favour.

She was dropped, lucky it was not a minute in to the round or I believe she would have been stopped.

It was a very close fight that many have different opinions on, that's not "unfair" it's just the way it is, she lost and obviously isn't coping very well.

As for the "mental health" card and "vile trolls", I wouldn't know her personal issues, she may well be a little brittle but that seems very convenient now, she wasn't unhappy enough to NOT Post Ben Davison praising HER after the fight.

Trolls, well, you lose and you're going to get some stick, if you want the big build up, want the interviews, want the airtime then you will get pulled up and heckled when it goes boobs up.

You can't be untouchable on social media, hide behind metal health, if you put yourself out there then expect the to take the rough with the smooth, she wasn't complaining before she lost, she was being called a hype job for a while and now she's lost these comments are damaging her mental health?

OK fine, get off social media and don't stick your face on IFL and the others, keep a low profile and get on with boxing because it's your "entire life".

I think she was better off not saying anything or maybe getting some advice on what to say, it's just come across WORSE.

Not even nice. The hair, hoop ear rings and rat face make her look like an original early 2000’s chav. If she thinks I’m a troll and it effects her mental health then she needs to grow up, I recently started wearing a headband after growing my hair in lockdown and I got called a tranny today Haha!

If he rematches Ball, she gets beaten again.

She should stop posing in front of cameras and concentrate on boxing. She’s been shoved on a pedestal I think not for her boxing genius, but with Booth and Matchroom she’s under the impression she’s already done it.

Possibly not, she won a several of those rounds, if not for the knockdown she would have won that fight or at least drawn that fight, if she can improve and work on the mistakes maybe she can beat Ball, truth is there both stylistically awkward for each other as a fight.

She's only lost one fight and ok maybe was'nt the most gracious in defeat but we all live and learn, the amount of negativity is a bit over the top.

Did well to get back into the fight, but needs to lay off the cup cakes, if she wants to further her career. The little porker needed a reality check!

Let’s be honest, Hearn thinks she’s aesthetically pleasing so she’s been afforded an opportunity far superior female boxers haven’t been.

I've watched 4 of her fights now, 3 of them a few days ago.

She doesn't use her jab enough to set up shots, combinations or even just as a weapon, she leads with the right hand too much. She uses up FAR too much energy with movements that are unnecessary, which makes her punch volume drop.

I'll give you an example, she'll do a shed load of head movement in front of an opponent, then land a shot or two and can immediately get backed up. Goes back in straight lines, so she's wasting energy doing unnecessary head movement, then can't fight back.

Needs to learn to pivot instead of walking backwards.

She is talented but she needs to learn to be critical to her self (positive criticism) and work on her weaknesses (those above are obvious ones to me).

Unless she starts to do that then she won't mature imo.

Far too many boxers make excuses, you can still have fought well and lost.

Yes we know sometimes things don't go smoothly but Shannon has to stop making excuses, congratulate her opponent and learn.

With that statement it's clear she's not addressing the problems, to not still congratulate your opponent either is pretty crass. You can't go doing little jigs across the ring when you KO your opponent then throw your toys out the pram when you lose.

I think Shannon can win a rematch. She’s a better boxer and she’s far better defensively with more power although I agree she neglects her jab and tends to lead with the right hand far too much.
I scored it either a draw or 77-75 to Shannon so rightly she will feel like she won although She should just congratulate Ball and move on/ prepare for a rematch. She could also improve her fitness which would come if she didn’t telegraph every punch no doubt adding to her fatigue. Ball was busier generally but missed loads, her compubox ratio landed would be very low.
Enjoyed the fight and look forward to a rematch.

She doesn't look a better boxer than Ball at all to me. Ball was landing jabs for fun and clearly showed a better boxing brain when she timed Courtenay to drop her when up against the ropes. Courtenay was just swinging like a drunk outside a pub.

She was applying pressure and winning rounds based off swarming and workrate really.

I think the negativity stems from her attitude, if you dish it out you have to be able to take it imo.

All that rubbish about she's been living rent free in Rachel Ball's head etc is all very well if you can back it up, if you can't then don't whinge about it after.

The reality is she's just not very good (or at least not as good as she thinks she is), even people on here couldn't believe the odds on Ball and hopefully everyone filled their boots , the way the odds tumbled suggested they did.

It was a close fight and could have gone either way but that's all the more reason to be a little more humble in defeat. I remember thinking after she lost lets see what shes got to say now or will she do the absolute worst thing she could and disappear off of the radar.

Eddie more or less dismissed a rematch anytime soon by questioning where she would be left if she lost again. He did say he thought Courtenay's stock had risen and maybe it has but certainly nowhere near as much as if she had won or even been a little more gracious in defeat.

The knockdown was more like a shoot out and Ball landed first. Shannon hurt her with an overhand right and backed her against the ropes and they were both swinging.

Ball was jabbing well out of distance falling short or Shannon simply stepped under her long arms, she was punching for the sake of it rather than picking her shots.

Lets hope the rematch gets made...
