mate I worked 4 years at Garden Island and used to walk from Kings Cross station to work and see young girls disintegrate in months due to drugs. Many of them were probably from terrible homes and were subjected to physical and sexual abuse. Why does a man with a family reliant on him do it? Especially after finding god and conquering his demons. Selfish. Though I do see your point and regret bumping that other thread.
Everyone is different, everyone has individual demons, you cant generalise, plenty of people say they've found god, perhaps that was just another attempt at finding peace, i imagine he's been through the whole gammut of trying to make sense of his life, did he ever really conquer his demons??...I doubt it
Just heard Jeff Fenech say on the radio that Shannon is in a coma and basically gone, life support to be turned off shortly. I feel for his family, friends and supporters. At his peak Shannon was probably the most exciting Aussie boxer around.
When people are organ donors the common practice is they keep them going on life-support to preserve the organs for others. Naturally I hope that's not where things are at for Shannan.
i used to work at garden island also. was a painter and docker. worked for the DHC. dad was a union rep at balmain.. yeah, i saw the same **** at the cross. i was a kid from the bush, and my first job in the city was there.....a real eye opener..:yikes
I was Boilermaker/welder. Same situation I was 17 and from a town with 1100 people. Sad seeing girls younger than me hocking their boxes on the streets.
