Shannon "The Troll" Briggs & Co.

He was held back and cut his foot so bad that it needed stitches. I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you've never gotten a cut so bad u needed stitches?

Besides if he hit him the fight would definitely never happen.

 

My take on the Briggs trolling campaign, was that it was sad to see him reduced to this.

I know that he was not the greatest champion in history, but he was once the lineal successor to John L Sullivan.

He was basically trolling Wlad, because he could no longer earn a shot at him on merit.

As in he could no longer become a mandatory for one of his belts.

 

Janitor, I know you respect paper and I can't hold that against you...but do you really see Briggs as ANY kind of lineal champ? He was given that belt as the greatest Christmas gift imaginable.

To me Briggs was never a champion, period. He was a third rater at his very best, and yeah I'm quite aware of his "championship" record. I don't rank him too much over Bruce Seldon...does that tell you something? lol

Are there any actual Briggs fans whom would take offense to this. As in, has anyone ever actually cheered Briggs? Besides laughing at his kinda lame troll attempts.

 

I guess that I place some weight on him holding the lineal title, even if the decision was questionable at best.

 

I had a feeling you were mostly respecting the paper, nothing wrong with that of course.

 

This actually isn’t true. He was highly rated by the WBA and the Wlad fight might’ve happened if Wlad’s run went a little longer. He won a regional WBA belt which put him in line.

Briggs was all signed up to fight Oquendo (might’ve been Charr) for the “regular” WBA belt at one point but he urinated an astronomical amount of testosterone and that’s pretty much how his career ended.

 

James Toney's become quite an enjoyable troll. He does a lot of trolling on his social media but it's all seemingly fun and games.
