Shattered Hand+wrist.. looking at a specialist.. surgery. In need of some help. Brisbane, QLD Region

Hurt my hand and hoping to find a good specialist, a good surgeon. If any of you boxing guys have been in this position.. maybe had a boxer's fracture, a damaged wrist or maybe some screws and had someone you would really recommend who got you back into it, that would be much appreciated.


The damage was done late last year, CT scan RIGHT HAND report said extensive carpal fractures.. involving the capitate and hamate and some slight misalignment of the third and fourth metacarpals + sublaxation of the 2nd and 3rd metacarpophalangeal joints. Orthopedic doctor pretty much confirmed the same. (Orthopaedic surgeon is a doctor for bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles.)

Long story short they put me in physio and had a follow up X-Ray around January. X-ray RIGHT WRIST: ongoing healing, some sclerosis of the capitate and hamate, metacarpals in anatomical alignment.


It's better for the most part but If I land punches on the index or pinkie knuckle I get some trouble. Seen some stories about people having screws put in and going back to boxing again


The Ortho is putting me off
