    That's the thing sometimes with these big massive punchers PP..like Shavers, Ingo, etc., sometimes the most innocent looking punch has lethal effect..that's how hard some guys punch, IMO..and I don't have anything against Ellis,lol,..I even rooted for him whern he fought Frazier.

    Jimmy was doing pretty good there in the opening seconds...being the fast starter that he was..then BOOM...Angie Dundee blessed him out for "stopping to admire his work" when he got caught.

    That is the kind of shot that Sam Langford often ended his fights with.

    It was probably a bit more calculated rather than instinctive in his case.

    Trading uppercuts wasn't a good idea with Shavers. Holding behind the back of the head while blasting them with the right uppercut was one of his favorite punches. Illegal maybe, but a lot of them got away with it. The ending to Lewis-Grant was another classic example.
