Shavers "I loved facing big, slow guys... I wouldn’t have had any problems"(with K2)

  1. Shavers could beat Wlad but not Vitali. Then again,Byrd stopped Vitali....
aw **** it. He'd KO both of them bitches. Like Byrd and Lewis and Sanders.

I'm kidding of course but I think he stands a chance at beating Wlad.

    He gets destroyed by wlad.

Him against vitali is harder to call. He probably has a 6 round limit to finish vitali off, anything after that and he'll have badly gassed. But vitali won't keep him outside. Would be interesting.

If a guy like Sanders can give K2 so much trouble I don't see why Shavers couldn't.

i agree but wlad is a vastly different fighter than he was at the time of the knockout. i don't see him getting caught cold like that now. vitali was hurt by sanders (no matter what some say) and an older, slower version could get caught by earnie by i still don't see him being put away

Wlad still never faced a puncher like Shavers in his prime. Peters I guess dropped him and wobbled him but he's still not in Shavers' class. And I'm not really convinced that Wlad in his prime would beat Sanders anyway, Sanders wasn't in his prime for either of the Klitschko brothers. His prime was against Garing Lane.

Vitali would most likely get caught and hurt imo, but since Vitali is pretty durable, Shavers probably wouldn't finish him off.

All I was saying is that they would both have trouble with Shavers.

Thats exactly what Jerry Quarry was thinking when he fought Shavers.
He went thru him like **** thru a goose.

Shavers has the punchers of KOing both Klitschko Bros. Don't forget that he's a fighter who is universally considered among the top of the hardest punchers of all time. There's a reason why Foreman avoided him in his comeback. IF Earnie lands flush against either Wlad or Vitali with his right, they're going down. Skillwise, Wlad and Vitali could stay outside, potshot, and avoid danger against Earnie with their longer reaches. This is how they beat Shavers over 12 rounds. The moment either one stands and trades with Earnie, they are done. They have more of a chance of knocking Shavers out late if Earnie doesn't punch himself out trying to finish the Klitschkos after knockdowns early in the fight.

Klitchskos have questionable jaws and thats not what you want when you faced big Earnie.

Shavers was a favorite of mine, but he does not have much chance vs. either Klitschko. However I do agree with his words about beating David Haye.

I love Earnie and he is a very dangerous fighter but he was KO'ed in his prime by Ron Lyle, the classic big, slow guy ...

He would lose to both Klitschkos. A fighter probably shouldn't be relied upon too much to give an objective take on how he would do in hypothetical matchups.

He was also a punching bag with not much of a chin.
