it wasnt and people always say ali took a beating with George who didnt time or punch right no earn hurt ali way may I think it was like 5 hard clean shots that stumbled him if earn had been a better finisher ali would had fell
Actually, Stander only described Shavers's power, he didn't actually claimed he hit the hardest (not confirmed) but just like you said, I also wonder how would he described Merritt's power? is it comparable with Shavers? Stander is still alive so there's still time to ask
how could anybody not get thats what you meant I agreed anybody can see mutiple people even no names take mutiple George shots before being stopped let alone falling
you mean people acting stupid like words mean more then video evidence oh he said this another man said this vid evidence proves earn hit way harder then George just like it proves its been mutiple harder hitters then both just like George vs frazier no way would joe be able to take hard proper tech shots from earn like he did George he would be over from the 2nd drop from way less punches
One more thing that's funny about featherfisted Shavers believers is that he iced Ken Norton who had a glass jaw, therefore overrated. CHINA CHIN TERRY NORRIS BEAT THE COUNT FROM A 3 PUNCH COMBINATION BY JULIAN JACKSON, AND IT SEEMS HE'S POWER IS NOT OVERRATED HMMMMMMMMMM..........................
The mind of Foreman hit harder than Shavers believers: Them: George Foreman didn't hit Ali cleanly therefor Foreman hits harder. Also them: *ignores Ken Norton, Charley Polite, Jimmy Young and Leroy Caldwell.
I have said that mutiple times to they always say how baer hit so hard obviously the people was right in front of him and they was smaller and wasnt real tough but ranks his power up there with George odd cause even though George power was overrated he still fought tougher people and people who moved it's way harder to land clean punches on a moving target and George fought real hws max wouldnt be able to land much or hurt none of the 70s mid card or big names
As evidenced in my previous posts, I don’t necessarily put the same weighting on these quotes as some do, particularly when associated vision is available, which it actually is for quite a few of Earnie’s more notable and defining bouts. Young I and II is sorely missing of course but besides those, what other non filmed bouts would necessarily provide greater illumination of Earnie and his power? Not rhetorical, just curious and there were certainly some nondescript records behind quite a few of the men he faced, even well into his career. Not just an implied lack of skill but also a suggestion of not so impervious chins and/or lack of commitment based resilience. Be that as it may, I enjoy the variance of opinion and the provision of facts as best we know them. And NO, of course Earnie was not feather fisted otherwise that is some freaking bird he sourced his feathers from. I can help out on Stander. In the other article you quoted from, yes, he described Earnie’s power without putting it into any context. In another article he did say re Shavers - “He hit me with everything. Hardest puncher in Heavyweight history”. Now that could be argued as a ref. to a title bestowed upon Earnie by the collective rather than just Ron’s POV. However, Ron does go on to say re Shavers - “I was never hit so hard”. Bingo, agree or not, we have a personalised and contextual (as it pertains to Stander’s other opposition) quote to uphold. Re Ron. An article written around 2005 I think noted that he was diagnosed to be in the early stages of dementia. I don’t know how he is doing now but I sincerely hope he is doing well.
Yeah but Johnny B/white bomber says he doesn’t care for the testimonies of all those guys who faced him. According to him, Shavers didn’t hit that hard. it’s so hard to know who to believe these days.
They're just plain stupid. Losing to them does not mean they're the hardest punchers, it only makes things sound more believable. If he wanted quotes from people who lost to Shavers so much, than Norton? Young? Caldwell? Polite? these guys lost to Shavers yet he ignored it, becuz at the end of the day, we judge punching power based by our beliefs
