Back to the topic, I would heavily favour Carnera to beat Shavers, his pysical strength combinated with his jab and his stamina would be too much for Earnie ( I don´t need to say that Shavers would have a puncher´s chance, because this chance he would also have against most ATG´s...)

    Carnera TKO 8 Shavers

And the fairy- tale about his fixed fights are also very funny, his promoters wanted to make a name of him quicker, that´s why for example the Young Stribling- fights came so early in his career, there are plenty of his fights on tape where you can see how he beat solid competition (by the way of KO, where he outboxed them, etc.), it´s a shame that some of you are so phony and don´t consider this clear fact...

Dempsey was outclassed by Tunney because he had been out of the ring for three years. The mob had Carnera fighting a couple of times a month . Paul Galico mentions the first time he saw Carnera fight,it was against Moise Bouquillon ,in the Salle Wagram Paris arena.Bouqillon scaled 188 ,Carnera 266,he said it was obvious the French man couldn't hurt Carnera ,but what was strikingly obvious too was that Carnera78 lbs the bigger man was unable to hurt Bouquillon, the Giant won a 10 rd dec.>In Carnera's corner that night, was" Good Time Charley Friedman".Gallico said years later Friedman told him candidly , "Boy was that a lousy break for us that you come into that Salle Wagram that night and see the big guy can't punch! Just that night you hadda be there.Leon [Leon See],wanted to see if he could go ten rounds without falling down. And you hadda be there. We coulda got away with a lot more if you don't walk in there and write stories about how he can't punch".

Carnera wasn´t a huge puncher like most of his time believed. But he had solid and surpassing power, otherwise he wouldn´t have stopped durable guys like Sharkey, Bearcat Wright, Neusel, etc...

Luigi, you are the one telling fairy tales. Almost every major boxing writer and trainer for the past seventy years has held the same beliefs about Primo. This is nothing new.

Based on what? Come on give us some prove or to say it with Lewis' "put up or shut up".

No, the time Carnera was around there were these stories, right now, many historians gave Primo the respect he deserves...

at that time most fighters had something to do with the mob, and I don´t understand when a fighter like Carnera is criticized, although there tapes who shows us that he was a solid fighter, and a fighter like Liston isn´t. Of course Liston is a league above Prime, but that´s not the point.

Thank you very much, Loewe! I don´t like when someone alleged something and doesn´t have facts...

The Neusel stoppage was due to a cut eye.

Carnera was an exceptionally light puncher. He was muscle bound and all arm. He was the classic cannot break an egg. The fact that his record is so filled with KO's under pins the fact that he was built up as an attraction based on his physical attributes through fixed/staged bouts.

Let's start with the writings and interviews of Ray Arcel and Angelo Dundee. Where is yours?

I don´t need one. You are the one claiming his fights were fixed so you need to prove that. Just like before a proper court you need to prove his guilt. Ever heard of the presumption of innocence?

What proves did Arcel and Dundee have? Were they part of his team or part of his opponents' team? Which fights do we talk about? Did they have any self interest in claiming this?

I didn't realize we were in a court of law officer. I thought this was a forum where people actually backed up claims with some details. You feel you are beyond it. I can understand why since your knowledge is so thin. You are now put on my blocked list as I find you immature , a last word freak and a bore.
