He sure did. A man whos honesty is evidenced via drug dealing, a murder trial and 4 year sentence for throwing ammonia at a police officer. And using a drug dealers badge to work the doors. And for creating several tumours who went into TOWIE 'fame'. He's to honesty what Fred West is to parenting.

Cordina was a class act. Didn't over celebrate, acknowledged his opponent immediately. Good lad.

I just caught the highlights and Cordina boxed beautifully.

I swear there was a post in here from someone saying that Cordina was arrogant and unlikeable like Conor Benn, madness! He was, as you say, class from start to finish. Being a Cardiff born Welshman I'm going to be biased but I thought the main even was absolutely brilliant, the entrances, the anthems, the atmosphere, the fight and what each of them brought to it. I'm not usually a fan of epic ring entrances but, even though a lot of it was out of time, having Dafydd Iwan sing Yma O Hyd and the crowd all joining in, what an advert for Welsh sport, for boxing, it set the tone for what was to follow.

Unlike the ogawa fight where he started celebrating before the end of the count whilst making the slit throat gesture. Good lad.

There was indeed a post to that effect. He seems a thoroughly decent human being. It was a brilliant fight and he was dignified after too. I'm not surprised you're proud, if that's representing your nation you're sorted. I hope he unifies.

Thought Cordina did enough to win but certainly not as shocking as sky seemed to make it. Agree he did box beautifully. Is Cordina in the top 5 p4p british fighters ? Id say so.

I think the adrenaline of what he'd just done took over, he threw a Hollywood punch and executed it perfectly to score an amazing KO and finally become a World Champion, it was the KO of the year, I celebrate like that after sex!

You could just as easily turn that opinion around and say it was in him to behave like that and he's been coached to be nicer most of the time. I don't know eitherway but given AJ's outbursts it's entirely possible.

    In no order

    Sunny Edwards
    Joe Cordina
    Tyson Fury (begrudgingly)
    Callum Smith
Lawrence Okolie (not saying I rate him, just going by the record, belts etc)

I'd say Edwards and Cordina are my two favourites, Edwards is fantastically gifted but just lacks that little extra pop that would make him a big deal to more than purists. Cordina is better than I thought, some of the speed he demonstrated last night was frightening.
