Thompson TKO Rd6. Watkins took some horrendous bodyshots, brave man. His eye had gone too. Good stoppage after Watkins down for 2nd time.

I don't think Thompson is anything special, Watkins gave him some shaky moments and he's British level at best.

 

Great matchmaking. I really want to see Jordan Thompson against Cheavon Clarke next. That would be a brilliant matchup, which is definitely possible considering how fast Matchroom's olympians are moving.

 

Whilst you're correct, surely that's as much to do with a lack of options, and a lack of big fights, than any promotional nous?

 

Not seen much of the build up this week with work, Cordina really doesn't look great does he? I still think he'll get the win later but constant camps doing that to yourself won't end well.

Nothing like Jamie McDonnell though, his weigh in physique used to genuinely scare me.

Great point. They are forced to take those fights as there are no other big money ones that are easier. I expect in about 10 years the frequency of these big fights in women’s boxing to decrease as the pool increases.

I do, really knowledgeable. Like the way he just pointed out how the opponent keeps high guard but his elbows are so high he's leaving so much body open.

 

A proper boxing man, is Sunny, behind all the bravado he is a clever lad when it comes to the sport of boxing, as you can tell from his ringcraft.

 

Zelfa looking world class here. Head movement is brilliant. I don't remember Zelfa being this powerful either.

 

Maybe the US market has more options than Europe - the likes of Shields, Serrano and Mayer have had tens of fights each before hitting titles, Taylor did it in a handful. I guess sticking UK fighters on cards over there probably isn't worth the expense.
