Timing is everything in this sport, very few fighters will do what is best for the sport rather than what is best for his wallet.

That is why Mayweather will Never fight Williams, Martinez, and others that could probably give him a good run. Why? They dont generate enough money......Khan will fight where the money is, he has that star power already........and Endorsements......The other guys in the 140 don't......This Malinaggi fight we saw was his exposure to US fans.........He will go up or down in weight (most likely up) for the better pay days.....Thats it.......The 140 ib tourney while its a novel idea I dunno if the other guys can bring in enough of a draw to generate a purse high enough to get Khan and his people interested...... See it as a business...plain and simple.

Why doesn't Shaw's fighter fight Alexander? Whenever his name come's he shuts up. He should go eat a doughnut

You mean Maidana's handlers? Though the last thing we heard from Maidana was that he didn't even know whether he had a contract with GBP, so I don't know how you know the specifics of it when he doesn't.

If you listened to what Maidana himself says, you'd know the situation. Maidana had the ability to enforce his mandatory with Khan and chose not to do it, accepting advice from his manager that it was best to have another two fights first to increase his exposure in the US. Maidana was offered a fight with Bradley and turned it down.

See what you can learn when you listen to what fighters actually say...

alexander might trouble his chin at 140 but that is it except kats.

maidana would have no chance of making it past round 3

Even if Khan was receptive to the tourney, it's doubtful that G.B. would allow him to compete it in. It appears that G.B has already set Khan's coarse in the direction of their own fighters. A showdown with JMM seems inevitable.
