The average medalist from 2012 Olympics had a win loss ratio of like 3:1 or 4:1. Losses were very common. Bodies grow differently. It's called puberty.
For Usyk and Porter to be the same win, Usyk has to be a skinny teenager before a growth spurt. You can't read too much into that. P.S. Porter is a top fighter, both his L's to Brook and Thurman were close.
Yeah it happened when Usyk was 19 in 2006 at MW, so clearly he wasn't quite as developed at that point, he was probably a scrawny little beanpole at the time.
Regardless when it happened and what stages they were at it is still an interesting little fact. There must be other good examples like this, strange amateur results.
Amateur records don't mean jack sh1t in the pros. The AMs can help you develop into a better pro but not with 100% certainty. Pretty sure Usyk would beat the hell out of the entire Porter camp at the same time now.
Well...Nonito Donaire beat James Kirkland in the amateurs and Ivan Calderon beat Miguel Cotto. By the way, Porter fought everyone in the amateurs, DeGale, Usyk, Jacobs, etc...
