That's normal for some. Take Anthony Davis, center for teh Pelicans, he grew nearly a foot in his 2nd/3rd years of HS. He started out playing PG lol. Then he had to switch to playing Center! The ironic thing is that for Davis, he has the fundamentals of a guard with the size of a center. He's a freak, probably much like Usyk.
And an slightly older Aaron Pryor completely outclassed a young Thomas Hearns as an amateur. So what? Iron chinned David Tua was also laid out cold at 19 by Felix Savon. You can't really hold developing athletes to the flame, as they're constantly developing and improving their games. They are not finished products at that age.
It's still pretty shocking if you think about it. A WW who is quite technically flawed beat a cruiser who is very technically sound at MW. Just odd.
Legend says that the mentioned event occurred right after Usyk was born in Simferopol, in a Soviet lab. Mikhail Gorbachev was feeling threatened by the birth of young Olexander, the same way Hera felt when Hercules was born. But instead of snakes, Gorbachev sent a prime, 27 years old Shawn Porter to KO the baby. Shawn failed, but he was bailed out by the Soviet judges, who awarded Porter a controversial SD victory.
I'm guessing you don't like Italian food. I was bone thin....weighed 190 into my 40's then up to 215 now. I AM fit.....no gut. The wife says I look better now and that's all that counts. I'm always amazed at 6'3" Mark Breland fight ing WW at 147.
The impressive thing about that is that Porter was a football player first, boxer second, he was an all-district halfback in Ohio and was good enough to get scholarships, but Kenny P. was smart enough to know the odds on a 5-6 160 lb. guy making a career in the NFL.
