hard to believe that porter stayed the exact same weight in the amateurs at 17, as he did in the pros ... almost nobody does that. besides maybe the featherweights or flyweights
No I'm saying that propping guys up as all time greats because they have a **** load of ametuer wins or maybe touting a cruiserweight as someone who will run through the heavyweight division because he beat a few heavyweights while they were ametuers is pointless. Kind of the like "he beat him in sparring 10 years ago" argument. All of this should be more or less ignored when discussing professional boxing but instead these occurrences are cherry picked to prop certain guys up to be more than what they've actually accomplished as professional atheltes
Crazy! And what were those dudes names that whooped Floyd in the ams again??? Floyd is LUCKY they didn’t go pro huh?!
Then Shawn should step on up and take the old man Usyk out huh?! How old was Shawn when he first laced up gloves? Usyk was 15. And did Porter win a world championship and Gold? I forget.
Used to be touch count when Porter and Usyk were amateurs. They changed it to new scoring parameters more similar to pro in recent years.
