What Porter’s really worth is irrelevant, since Crawford is badly in need of a named opponent like Porter, so Crawford is despite having the WBO title is in a very bad position negotiation wise, since everybody knows his relationship with Arum is deteriorating and Arum seems like he’s under pressure from ESPN to get Crawford a credible opponent.

Pressure from ESPN to get Crawford to produce better numbers is most likely why Arum lashed out at Crawford, but because all this was done publically named fighters like Porter are going to use it to get more money out of Crawford.

 

But Porter has lost every fight against top opponents. You usually don’t get more money every time you lose. He was offered what he got last time. What has he done to increase the price? He was lucky to get the win against Ugas. Sounds like he’s pricing himself out. No way should Crawford pay a premium to fight this guy.
