Fun fight, I’d watch it. Hard to call but I think Porter speed probably see him to a point win even though he’s so ineffective when he mauls

Margarito's a very good inside fighter. He'd bust up Porter.

Margarito threw 1600 odd punches vs Clottey. I don’t think Workrate is an issue. Maybe if Porter had William’s dimensions.

 

Everyone was quicker than Margo, but he catches up with them..Margo is one of a few that can slow Porter down late for a minimum UD

 

Yep, Porter is in with granite, a non stop move forward pressure fighter with a great tank that proved it against the best, Porter gets Porter'd imo

He's really not.
Gets tagged by less talented guys at close range.
He has zero answer for combos at close range, just holds guard and stays still.
His body shots whiff at close range and leave him wide open for a straight.
Gets caught when he tries to clinch.

He's a pressure fighter,he's not particularly good on the inside, despite what this forum will try to convince you.

There is bundles of evidence to show that Margarito can't handle pressure.

Porter is pressure.


Margarito is an overhyped sparring partner, and yet some of you talk about him as if he's elite P4P.

Heres prime Margarito getting tagged by a sloppy midget consistently, on the inside.
For 2 rounds until Lujans punch output drops, Margarito haz ZERO answers.

This would have be an interesting scrap.
I could see porter mauling him & smothering him to a UD for sure.

I don’t think he can stop tony though.

This. Porter’s style would actually work against him with a guy like a Margarito. I see a Margarito decision.

 

I think Margarito edges this one since Shawn is not a big welterweight. Shane had more right hand power than Shawn did, and that is always overlooked with Shane.
