I can see porter swarming guys that are tactical boxers with some success, but I cant see him out swarming a swarmer with the height, physicality and work rate of margarito. Margarito is a hard one to judge though because after the scandal he didnt look the same, although he did trouble cotto again in the second fight and manny went life and death with him despite what the scorecards indicated. All that being said porter sometimes looks too urgent in there, everyone he has fought has had a tough night with him, but it looks like he gives up technique with his urgency. I really cant see margarito wilting under that pressure. I think porter would make it competitive for the first half of the fight, but the latter rounds would look one sided as margarito picked up momentum. That's just my opinion.

 

Margarito (with the bricks in his hands) would beat Porter like a dam dog.

 

Porter and Margarito have a similar style but Margarito is more stupid than Porter in terms of blocking punches with his face. Fighters who fight like that cannot continue to fight for a long period of time. A brain damage is more likely to be a serious consequence for them. Porter vs Margarito could be a war because they both are real brawlers. Margarito has physical advantages over Porter while the latter has a better stamina than the former. Porter wins by a slight margin.

 

People musta forgot how dangerous Margarito was in his prime. He would beat the living daylights out of Porter.

 

He was definitely the number 1 Welter at the time. That's not my opinion that's how he was ranked

 

Porter would likely try to up his volume to keep up w/ Margarito, which would be a mistake. Porter doesn't have the discipline to stick to his own game plan IMO. MArgarito UD
