Diego "Golden Kid" De La Hoya is Oscar's nephew, making his professional debut.

 

Round 1

Quick 1-2 by De La Hoya. Cosme turtles up and sticks a jab to the chest. De La Hoya dips to his left and lands a left uppercut to the body. Jabs and combos by De La Hoya stepping in. Cosme grabs him and they both tumble into the ropes. Cosme is ducking in place, not fooling himself about his feet being quick enough to get clear of De La Hoya. Left hook to the body by Cosme as De La Hoya drops a right hand in behind a fast jab. Right hand lead to the chest and left hook by De La Hoya, blocked. Cosme bobs in reverse, then moves in with a hard left hook to the ribs. De La Hoya takes it well and responds with a hard 1-2 on the mouth. Cosme misses a right hand and De La Hoya flurries in his face.

Round 2

De La Hoya is whipping in left hooks, slamming them into the neck of Cosme. De La Hoya slips a few punches on sheer quickness. Fast double and triple hooks by De La Hoya, mixing to head and body. Cosme is waiting and peering between his gloves, sticking the jab out to his chest every now and then but mostly just defending. De La Hoya patiently walks Cosme into a corner, showing the jab but not rushing in or wasting punches.

Round 3

De La Hoya is slapping in with left and right hooks and standing in front of Cosme. A few straight body shots eke out from Cosme as he backs up with his guard raised. Jabs and uppercuts by De La Hoya, surprising Cosme and backing him up to the ropes, hurt. Big combo by De La Hoya, all speed. De La Hoya's aim is very poor but enough shots are getting in to overwhelm Cosme and drop him by the ropes. He doesn't bother getting up.
